Nike launches online draw, offers 89 self-lacing shoes

Nike has launched an online draw that will give away 89 pairs of the Nike Mag, the self-lacing shoe that adapts to the foot and first appeared in “Back to the Future 2.”
The next-generation shoe features responsive power laces which tighten and conform to the foot and was made famous by its silver screen owner, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) in 1989.

The draw is in support of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Online raffle tickets are $10 each. All proceeds go to the foundation and there is no limit to the amount of tickets that can be purchased.
While the majority of shoes will be given away to residents of the US and Canada, a pair will also be auctioned off live in Hong Kong (Oct. 11), London (Oct. 14, 17) and New York at a benefit gala Nov. 12. The contest closes Oct. 11. Winners will be notified Oct. 17.
Those who don’t score a pair, however, can buy a more basic version of the Nike Mag with the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, also designed to lace up automatically and fit the wearer’s foot shape. The shoe will be available for purchase Nov. 28.
