Fingerprint sensors are common in most modern day smartphones.

Fingerprint scanners have been around in smartphones since the Motorola Atrix in 2011. But their adoption increased after Apple introduced their iteration of the biometric authentication with Touch ID on the iPhone 5s in 2013.

Since then, many popular smartphones have adopted this method that lets you easily unlock a phone, authenticate purchases and more by simply keeping your finger on the scanner.

Some phones (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 mentioned in this post) also let you use it as a camera shutter. Fortunately, today a fingerprint scanner is not a feature exclusive to expensive phones as a handful options costing around Rs. 10,000 also have it. Here’s a list of some great phones with this nifty hardware feature in every price segment.
